Sports Plus was chosen as a beneficiary of the 2010 Washington Nationals Autism Awareness Day for the third consecutive year!

 


Sports Plus Founders Nominated for Awards

Sports Plus founders Tom & Natalie Liniak have been nominated for the fourth time for the prestigious 2012 Nancy Dworkin Montgomery County Outstanding Service to Youth Award. Tom Liniak has also been nominated for the  2010 Unsung Heroes of Autism Award sponsored by Lindt Chocolate Company and the 2010 Heroes Among Us Award sponsored by Major League Baseball.

 

DC United Joins Sports Plus for Season Finale

Bobby Boswell and Devon McTavish of Washington’s Major League Soccer Team, DC United, joined us for our spring season finale in June playing with us and signing autographs for four hours. Many thanks to Bobby, Devon, the  community relations staff and everyone at DC United for helping to make the day a fun and memorable experience for all of our Sports Plus players and families!


Sports Plus Welcomes New Coaches to its Fall Sessions
 
Sports plus is pleased to announce that three new coaches have joined its staff this fall. Coach Boom is a special education teacher with an extensive soccer experience from youth to the professional level. He is also a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor. Coach Laura is a certified speech-language pathologist who is also a former junior Olympic volleyball player and volleyball coach. Coach Jasmine is pursuing her degree in early childhood education and is a former college cheerleader and has extensive martial arts experience. All of these coaches have a great deal of experience working with both children with special needs and neurotypical children.


Sports Plus Selected as Beneficiary for DARCARS Young Run!
Sports Plus has been selected to be the local non-profit children's beneficiary for the DARCARS Young Run on October 21,2007 in Rockville. This year will be the 19th year for the race and last year it drew close to 3,000 participants. The race is both fun and unique in that it is just for kids 12 and under. Sports Plus Founders Nominated for Award 
Sports Plus founders Tom and Natalie Liniak were recently nominated for the 2007 Nancy Dworkin Montgomery County Outstanding Service to Youth Award in recognition of their efforts and the high quality programs that Sports Plus offers. The award is co-sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and the Gazette newspapers.

Sports Plus chosen as non-profit beneficiary of NASA Federal Credit Union Halloween Young Run for fourth consecutive year.
